ADVANCE SALE HAVE ENDED.  ADDITIONAL TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR TONIGHT

The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation is excited to present an all-star septet featuring world-class trombonist Andy Martin.  Mr. Martin will be joined by local all stars Dave Becker and Ron McCarley (reeds), Bob Bennett (trumpet), Marshall Otwell (piano), Dylan Johnson (bass) and Darrell Voss (drums).  Mr. Martin has been a soloist on over 150 major film soundtracks and with numerous big bands.  He’s also performed as a sideman with such luminaries as Stanley Turrentine and Horace Silver.

The first set will comprise a recreation of the acclaimed 1961 recording “Blues and the Abstract Truth.”  This classic album by Oliver Nelson featured unique ensemble arrangements which will be performed in their entirety.  During the second set, the ensemble will play other selections that showcase the talents of these top-flight musicians.  The show will take place on Thursday, February 1st at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church in SLO.

The show starts at 7:30 (with doors opening at 7:00).  Tickets are priced at $30 for general admission, $20 for Jazz Federation members and $10 for students and can be purchased at my805tix.com or at the door.   Mt.
