The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is excited to present a monthly bird walk series which explores the intersection of birds and botany. Join us from 8 to 10 AM on the last Thursday of the month for our 2 hour walk with long-time garden volunteer Ken Levine and avian expert Mark Mushkat.
Toxic stress impacts the mental and physical health of every generation, and ACEs, adverse childhood experiences, can create lifelong challenges for the individual and the community. This retreat focuses on nature as a protective and compensatory experience that can mitigate effects of toxic stress, and how to use nature connection to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and overall brain health for yourself and the children in your life. You will get the opportunity to participate in guided outdoor activities, learn from Kathleen Lockyer, an expert in nature connection for young children, and rediscover your own special connection to nature.
