Songwriters at Play and CCA is elated to start off pride celebration month in our little corner of paradise with a great concert. We are excited to spotlight these four amazing LGBT+ artists and allies including: Nashville-based duo The Daily Fare will share the CCAT stage with local band Walk the Whale, and SoCal songsters Crimson Skye and Dillon Vanders. Get your tickets soon as our concerts usually sell out.

Alissa Abeler and Hannah Smith joined creative forces to form the duo now known as The Daily Fare. The pair grew up on opposite sides of the music world with influences ranging from Judy Garland and Adele to Beethoven and Bach, with a healthy dose of Broadway, punk cabaret, and 80s ballads sprinkled in the mix. They say, "As members of the queer community, we are honored to have had the opportunity to play at several Pride events around the greater Nashville area over the past couple of years. We love and look forward to sharing our music with everyone in every walk of life." https://www.thedailyfaremusic.com

Walk the Whale is the brainchild of Logan (he/him, gay) and Parker (he/him, straight), two long-time friends from music school who trained as cellists but are comfortable on various instruments. Their original style blends alt-rock, folk, or any other style the pair find themselves in. They appeared at CCAT in March 2023, when they took top honors at the Songwriters at Play Song Contest. https://www.walkthewhale.com

Crimson Skye has played many Songwriters at Play events. She is a native of Bakersfield, where she won 2020 Artist of the Year at the Bakersfield Music Awards. She played several Pride events in Bakersfield, also one in San Francisco. Here's a video of her live performance:

Dillon Vanders lives in Long Beach with his fiancé, Christopher. Dillon played the CCAT tributes to Paul Simon and Jackson Browne. He grew up on a steady diet of Simon & Garfunkel and Joni Mitchell, later embracing country legends such as Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins. https://www.dillonvandersmusic.com
